BELIZE TRIP

ON COURSE FOR THE FUTURE...
Horizon Community Church has purchased 154 acres along the Little Miami River for its future church location. The land is approximately four miles from Cincinnati Country Day School and is the former site of Indian Valley Golf Course. The church is currently in the design phase, working with architect CDH Partners to create the facility. Read details here.

Chad Hovind

Chad Hovind graduated from Moody Bible in Chicago, majoring in pastoral ministry as well as communication. His love for ministry and creativity can be seen in many forms: leading teams, motivational speaking, expository teaching, and experience as an actor, director, and video producer. He's served as pastor at two high-impact church start-ups in Georgia: Cumberland Community Church and New Community Church. Chad received his master's degree from Moody Graduate School in 2008. His Masters of Arts in Ministry specialized in teaching and communication. He loves sports, movies, and hanging out with his wife, Beth, and two kids, Sierra and Javan.

Phil Charlton

Philip Charlton came to Horizon from an international management consulting firm. In December 2006 Phil resigned as President and COO, bringing to a close his 26-year relationship with the company, and joined the Horizon team. Phil has a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Forest Science and a M.A. Biblical Studies from Trinity Theological Seminary. He and his wife Linda have moved to Cincinnati from Madison, Wisconsin. They have two children, Amanda and Nathan, and one grandchild, Amelia.

John Kirby

John Kirby graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Marketing and holds a fellow in Church Administration from the National Association of Church Business Administrators. John served in church administration for 20 years and recently moved into his new role as Horizon's Connections Pastor. John lives in Madeira with wife Rachelle and sons, Ben and Joseph.

Tom McKittrick

Tom McKittrick has spent nearly 25 years in business most recently as the General Manager of an international trade show for 19 years. He grew up on a dairy farm, has a degree in education and has also worked in academia and as a foundation vice president. After living in Wisconsin his entire life, Tom joined Horizon in 2007 as the Spiritual Growth Pastor primarily responsible for small groups. Tom and his wife Christe have four children -- Tim, Anna, Grace and Sam.



Paul Tate, Creative Arts Pastor · ptate@horizoncc.com

Paul Tate

As Horizon's Creative Arts Pastor, Paul Tate supervises the production and performance of the creative elements in our Sunday services. Paul joined the staff in June 2005, coming to Cincinnati from LaGrange, GA, where he served a similar role at New Community Church. Prior to entering full-time ministry, he was owner of Stairwell Studios, a digital media firm, with numerous credits as a screenwriter and director. He has a Master's degree in film & video from The American University, and a B.A. in visual communication from LaGrange College. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, Paul also enjoys watching movies and spending time with his wife, Shelia, and their two kids, Griffin and Jill.

Matt McKee

Matt McKee was born and raised in Central Kentucky. He graduated from Cumberland College with a degree in Theatre and Communications. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He worked at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX for five years where he helped create and produce "G-Force," a curriculum for elementary age children. He is married to Jessica McKee and has two sons, Patriot and Azlan.

Amy Rudge

Amy Rudge joined the Horizon staff in 2004 as the high school girls director. In 2005 her ministry expanded to include junior high students as well. Amy comes to Cincinnati from Bradenton, FL, where she was on the Young Life ministry staff. She graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA with a bachelors degree in communication and business. She then attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA where she received her Masters in Sports Marketing & Management. She is now working on a second Masters degree at Cincinnati Bible Seminary in Family Ministry and Counseling. Apart from ministry, Amy's passion is soccer. While in college she was the starting goalkeeper for four years and went on to play in the USISL W-league for Atlanta and Montreal. Amy also loves watching football and is a huge Florida Gators fan!

Adam Deckard

Adam Deckard joined the Horizon team in March of 2006. Adam is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but he spent the first five years of his ministry career in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Adam's student ministry experience consists of both junior high and high school leadership. Adam is a graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he majored in Communications, with a minor in Biblical Studies. In his spare time, Adam loves to be out on the golf course, or spending time with his wife Jenny.



Kenny Cowden, Worship Leader · kcowden@horizoncc.com

Kenny Cowden

Kenny Cowden is an accomplished musician and entertainer from Cleveland, Ohio. Having played in bands such as The Cowden & Goins Band, Overdue, and Suspect, Kenny is now a solo artist and has resided in Cincinnati for over 20 years. His latest CD, co-written and produced by Eddie Hedges of Blessid Union of Souls, delivers great songwriting, solid guitar, vocals and award-winning harmonica, on a wide range of original tunes. Kenny performs frequently at various clubs and concert halls around the Tri-State area.
