READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN 2012
As part of our goal to have our congregation read the entire Bible this year, we have found some recommended resources to help you do this electronically. Visit YouVersion, a free Bible service offering mobile apps, daily e-mails, reading plans and more options to help you study scripture.
ONLINE GIVING
By popular demand, we've made it easier for you to support the church financially by enabling an online giving option through the web. To make one-time or recurring donations to Horizon, go to giving.horizoncc.com and use our secure and confidential system. We accept electronic checks and major credit cards.
CITY GOSPEL MISSION TWICE A MONTH
In addition to our usual second Sunday serving opportunity, you can now serve on the third Monday of each month to help serve dinner for the needy individuals at City Gospel Mission. (There's no need to serve both days.) Horizon's Action Team meets at 5:30 p.m. at the church parking lot to carpool downtown. The team finish serving around 7:45 p.m. with game time to follow until 8:30 p.m. Children six and above can join with parents.
FILL A BAG, FEED A FAMILY
Horizon's blue bag ministry offers an easy way to help others in need. Grab a blue bag and a grocery list at the information desk on Sunday and take it on your next shopping trip. Bring the filled bag back on Sunday, and Horizon's Action Team will make sure it's delivered to a needy family or local food pantry.

Join an Action Team
Horizon's Action Teams provide many ways to get involved and serve in the church, in our local community, or globally.
We would like to invite you to chat with ministry leaders and pastors concerning the areas outlined below. They can help match your interests, passions, gifts, and styles to a ministry area that fits your strengths and best supports the mission of Horizon.
Take Action Globally
If you have an interest in global outreach, Horizon takes a winter medical and construction trip to Belize. More information on the Belize Trip can be found here.
The student ministry team takes an annual summer mission trip to Mexico, and other groups within the church do national and international work on an ongoing and as-needed basis, such as disaster relief and home repair and construction. Horizon conducts an annual service project in conjunction with Feed My Starving Children to provide nutritious meals to children in third-world settings.
Take Action Locally
There are also regular local service projects in conjunction with Inter Parish Ministries and City Gospel Mission. Non-perishable food donations are accepted weekly as part of Horizon's Blue Bag Program and delivered regularly to local food pantries.
Take Action at the Church
Horizon offers countless volunteer opportunities for ministry-specific serving, with roles that cater to your individual passions, talents, and experience. In addition to traditional roles for teachers, ushers and musicians, there are many surprising ways that your specific abilities can serve the local church. Some of these tasks include project manager, interior designer, builder, strategic planner, actor, set-up/tear-down crew, greeter, singer, photographer, video editor, writer, teacher, musician, prayer team member, financial planner, computer technician, hospital visitor, traffic director, tutor, student mentor, artist, costumer, administrator, receptionist, caregiver, medical care, chef, public relations agent, ski instructor, coach, statistical analyst, researcher, small group host/hostess, and many more. For specific contact areas, see the list below.
