GOSPEL PRAISE CONCERT

Join in on Sunday night, Feb. 26th at 6:30 as Albert Wilkerson and friends bring an hour of upbeat gospel music. Albert has toured and recorded with a "who's who" of music, including Stephanie Mills, Ashford & Simpson, The Gap Band, Yolanda Adams, the Whispers and others. Childcare for 4 and under.

ONLINE GIVING

By popular demand, we've made it easier for you to support the church financially by enabling an online giving option through the web. To make one-time or recurring donations to Horizon, go to giving.horizoncc.com and use our secure and confidential system. We accept electronic checks and major credit cards.

CITY GOSPEL MISSION TWICE A MONTH

In addition to our usual second Sunday serving opportunity, you can now serve on the third Monday of each month to help serve dinner for the needy individuals at City Gospel Mission. Horizon's Action Team meets at 5:30 p.m. at the church parking lot to carpool. Children 6 and up can join in with parents.

FILL A BAG, FEED A FAMILY

Horizon's blue bag ministry offers an easy way to help others in need. Grab a blue bag and a grocery list at the information desk on Sunday and take it on your next shopping trip. Bring the filled bag back on Sunday, and Horizon's Action Team will make sure it's delivered to a needy family or local food pantry.

What to Expect

Horizon meets on Sundays at 3950 Newtown Road

Thanks for your interest in Horizon Community Church. Horizon was designed to help you explore spiritual matters in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We know your first time at a new church can prompt some questions. The section below includes some of the more common questions. If you have others, please feel free to contact us.

When do you have services?

Horizon has services every Sunday morning year-round (except the last Sunday in December.) We have three services currently: an 8:50 Equipping Service and two identical Exploring Services at 10:00 and 11:10. See the differences in the two services below.

How do I get to Horizon?

Chad teaching We meet at our new facilities located at 3950 Newtown Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244. Click here for directions.

What should I wear?

We're more concerned with meeting your needs than with what you wear. Most people will dress in casual weekend attire, so dress how you feel comfortable and you'll fit right in.

Which service should I attend?

Horizon offers two different styles of services on Sunday mornings: the Equipping Service at 8:50 a.m. and identical Exploring Services at 10:00 and 11:10 a.m. Deciding which service fits your interests is up to you. Children and youth programs are also offered at all three time slots.

Kenny Cowden Horizon's Exploring Service offers topical themes and spiritual questions relevant to everyday life. The Exploring Service considers questions like, "Who is God?" and "What is life all about?" The service uses down-to-earth teaching, upbeat music, and creative media to explore topics like parenting & relationships, world philosophies, decision making, ethics in the workplace, aging, and the search for significance. It's an engaging and comfortable hour where you can explore, while being intellectually and spiritually challenged.

The Equipping Service is designed for those who are maturing in their faith, featuring more traditional expressions of worship, monthly communion, and extended verse-by-verse teaching focused on specific books of the Bible. The service is a robust, challenging experience where the Arts meet faith with creativity, emotion, and reflection.

What's available for my kids?

We have a kids experience called Exploration Station for infants through 4th grade. The atmosphere is dynamic, safe and age-appropriate...and most important, it's fun. Kids love it! As soon as you walk in the building, look to the right for the elementary check-in area where a greeter or teacher will help you find everything you need for a great experience. Our three-story Playland and amazing kids theater guarantee a fun atmosphere that your children will hate to leave. The latest learning tools and age-specific curriculum help them learn about God with creativity and depth. For more information about E-station, click here.

5th & 6th graders are invited to join in the fun at Fuel 56, meeting on the second floor in "The Pitstop," a high-energy program designed specifically for them. Check-in for 5th thru 8th grade is at the top of the stairs, near the elevator.

Teens will enjoy hanging out with other kids their age in one of two Sunday programs: the middle school ministry for 7th-8th graders known as Ignite or the high school ministry for 9th to 12th graders known as Axis. Games, music, discussions, and creative teaching are a big part of the student programs. High school check-in is in the atrium across from the fireplace.

What should I expect in church?

From the moment you pull into the parking lot, we strive to make you feel at home. Our greeter team will help you find anything you need, including a place for your kids, no matter what age they are. Please make your way through our main entrance and look to the right for our cafe. Help yourself to some coffee and a bagel -- they're free -- and if you're inclined, say hello to the folks around you, or be anonymous if you prefer.

From there, you can make your way to our Chapel, where our services are conducted. If you prefer, casual seating is available throughout the atrium on couches and chairs near the fireplace. Video monitors display the adult services in hallways and gathering areas throughout the facility.

As you enter the chapel, a greeter will hand you a program. As you take a seat, please look for a Connect Card in the pew backs; please fill it out anytime during the service. All of the information on the card is kept confidential, and we promise not to "spam" you or drop by your house unannounced. Rest assured, we will never single you out during the service. If you choose to jot some info on the Connect Card, please drop it in an offering box or at the information table in the atrium. You can also fill it out later at home and mail it back to us.

What are the services like?

The Exploring Service is designed to be accessible, understandable, and compelling. On any given Sunday, you'll hear a mix of different musical styles from a live band made up of some of Cincinnati's top musicians. We feature Top 40, Classic Rock, and Christian Contemporary sounds in our services, and occasionally we'll sneak in some Motown, Gospel or Country tunes.

The creative presentation is often fast-paced, moving, and a bit unpredictable (we like it that way, and hope you will too.) You'll see movie clips, dramatic and comedic scenes, gameshows, brainteasers, and experiments. Chad Hovind, Horizon's Lead Pastor, is an engaging teacher who helps bring a practical understanding to real-life issues like marriage, parenting, finances, decision-making, emotions and faith.

If you're looking for more in-depth Bible teaching and traditional worship elements, you might prefer our Equipping Service. The musical experience includes a set of high-energy praise & contemporary worship music, mixed with traditional favorites, and times of reflection and prayer. On the first Sunday of each month, Horizon observes communion at this service.
