BELIZE TRIP
Horizon takes a group of medical professionals, builders, and volunteers to Belize each winter to serve the families in Central America. You're invited to join the journey, Jan. 23-29, 2009. For details, contact jkirby@horizoncc.com or call 513-272-5800.
ON COURSE FOR THE FUTURE... Horizon Community Church has purchased 154 acres along the Little Miami River for its future church location. The land is approximately four miles from Cincinnati Country Day School and is the former site of Indian Valley Golf Course. The church is currently in the design phase, working with architect CDH Partners to create the facility. Read details here.

| | IN FOR KIDS
IN offers a creative, fun program, emphasizing Christian learning in an exciting and child-friendly atmosphere. IN uses drama, music, Bible stories, games and crafts to stimulate a child's growth. Kids are excited by their experience here and look forward to spending time at IN. Parents get to relax and know that their children are loved and nurtured while they learn and grow.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
IN is geared towards the individual needs of each child and all classrooms are appropriately equipped for the children using them. The children are grouped by age, and later, gender (second and third grade boys separate from the girls and fourth and fifth grade girls separate from the boys). The teachers are chosen because of their ability to generate a relaxed and non-threatening environment, while communicating God's word in a stimulating way.
Our adult services begin at 9:15 and 10:30 and many parents attend one service and volunteer during the other. Because of this, IN offers two totally different programs during the morning, and many children enjoy staying at IN for both services.
The 9:15 program has graded classes. Teachers and their assistants use an exciting combination of storytelling, crafts and games to bring God's Word to our children.
IN's 10:30 program begins with the theme for the week introduced in small groups. The groups then come together to take part in a larger presentation involving storytelling, acting and music. The children then return to their small groups to discuss what they have learned, and how they might apply it to their own lives.
SAFETY
Here are some of the steps taken to ensure the safety of each child:
- classrooms free of clutter with clean and age-appropriate toys
- a minimum of two teachers in each classroom
- two circulating staff available to provide extra help if needed
- background checks completed on all staff working at IN
- registration and pick up with parent sign-in and child nametags
- a paging system in the auditorium to alert parents when needed
- a health policy to protect your child's health
HEALTH POLICY
Parents are asked for their cooperation in helping to provide a healthy environment. For the consideration of all, sick children are requested to be cared for at home. These are the rules of thumb we publish for the sake of all the children. Children are not ready to come to IN if they:
- had a fever of 100 or more within the last 24 hours
- vomited within the last 24 hours
- had diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- have a runny nose with other than clear drainage accompanied by other symptoms
- have a bad cough
This policy not only protects other children, but also ensures that your child gets the most enjoyment from our programs by coming at their best.
HOW DO I SIGN IN?
The hallway staff is ready to help each Sunday. Each child is registered outside the classroom for their age.
The IN staff is glad to answer any question you have. Call Tami at the office during the week or contact through the email addresses listed below.
