Albert has toured and recorded with a "who's who" of music, including Whitney Houston, Stephanie Mills, Ashford & Simpson, Yolanda Adams, the Whispers and many more. Childcare for 4 and under.

As part of our goal to have our congregation read the entire Bible this year, we have found some recommended resources to help you do this electronically. Visit YouVersion, a free Bible service offering mobile apps, daily e-mails, reading plans and more options to help you study scripture.
ONLINE GIVING
By popular demand, we've made it easier for you to support the church financially by enabling an online giving option through the web. To make one-time or recurring donations to Horizon, go to giving.horizoncc.com and use our secure and confidential system. We accept electronic checks and major credit cards.
CITY GOSPEL MISSION TWICE A MONTH
In addition to our usual second Sunday serving opportunity, you can now serve on the third Monday of each month to help serve dinner for the needy individuals at City Gospel Mission. (There's no need to serve both days.) Horizon's Action Team meets at 5:30 p.m. at the church parking lot to carpool downtown. The team finish serving around 7:45 p.m. with game time to follow until 8:30 p.m. Children six and above can join with parents.
FILL A BAG, FEED A FAMILY
Horizon's blue bag ministry offers an easy way to help others in need. Grab a blue bag and a grocery list at the information desk on Sunday and take it on your next shopping trip. Bring the filled bag back on Sunday, and Horizon's Action Team will make sure it's delivered to a needy family or local food pantry.

Gospel Praise Concert
Join in for a special night  of worship music, as Albert Wilkerson and friends bring an hour of upbeat praise music. The event will be held in the Chapel on Sunday, Feb. 26th at 6:30 p.m. Albert is the bass player and vocalist on Horizon's music team and plays around the region as the leader of the jazz/R&B group The Chozen. During his long career in the entertainment industry, Albert has toured and recorded with a "who's who" of music, including Whitney Houston, Stephanie Mills, Ashford & Simpson, Yolanda Adams, the Whispers and many more. Everyone is welcome to attend what is sure to be an energetic and impactful event. Childcare will be available for ages 4 and under.
Women's Evening Book Club
Women's Evening Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 7th, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Ferrari's Restaurant in Madeira. (Please note the new starting time of 6:30 p.m.) This month's title is Life on the Color Line by Gregory Howard Williams (President of UC). Books are available for purchase in the atrium on Sundays. Doug Daily Joins Horizon Staff
We are pleased to announce that Doug Daily is joining our staff as another lead pastor alongside Chad. With over 20 years as a pastor and speaker with FamilyLife Conferences, Doug brings a wide range of experiences to Horizon. He holds degrees from Mississippi State and Dallas Theological Seminary and received his doctorate from Bethel Theological Seminary. He is the author of Stress in Marriage and is a frequent speaker on leadership and men's topics. In addition to pastoring high-impact churches in Colorado and Arkansas, Doug was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. Doug will be a champion of spiritual development at Horizon, launching a new men's ministry and supporting Chad as a speaker at our adult services. He will be coming on board full-time in February. He and his wife, Patty, have three grown children.

Career Women's Speaker Series
Career Women's Speaker Series meets next on Feb. 28th and will meet on the last Tuesday of each month through the end of April. Meet for potluck appetizers and speaker from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the church. The speaker for the series will be Christe McKittrick, speaking on communication and conflict resolution. Christe is a faculty member of Miami University's Dept. of Communications and a former attorney.
Get on the Fast Track! We are currently going through an Exploring series called Fast Track Bible. Part of the series' challenge is for everyone to read through the companion study guide. You can download a copy of the entire Fast Track study booklet as a PDF here. Additional printed copies will be available at church on Sunday.

Serve at City Gospel Mission
Horizon's Action Team serves dinner at City Gospel Mission twice monthly and we need your help. Join in on the second Sunday or third Monday of every month. The team meets at 5:30 p.m. in the church parking lot to carpool downtown. Food service ends around 7:45 p.m. with game time to follow until 8:30 p.m. Children ages six and above can join with parents. Contact John Kirby at 513 200-6464.
Feed My Starving Children  Last spring Horizon packed 187,500 meals for needy children overseas, and this year, we hope to top 200,000 during the Feed My Starving Children mobile pack event on April 19-21, 2012. Please begin praying about how you might support this initiative with your giving and volunteer participation. Details are coming soon.

CHILDREN'S NEWS
Safe and Secure
On Sunday mornings the E-Station hallway is a secure corridor. Only parents with children checked in will be permitted to enter. When you check in your child, you'll be given a name tag with a numbered receipt. Please make sure you retain the receipt. You will have to show it to the door monitors to enter the hallway. Thanks for helping us keep our kids safe and secure at Horizon.

Fuel 56 - 5th & 6th Grade News
Our 5th and 6th grade ministry is called 'Fuel 56.' The group meets in the Pit Stop, which is located on the church's 2nd Floor. Take the stairs just inside the Main Entrance, and follow the signs. For all 5th and 6th graders, we ask that parents bring them first to the 2nd Floor Landing (top of the stairs) to check in at the reception desk. Volunteers will guide them to the Pit Stop from there.
Laser Tag on Feb. 11th
Fuel 56 has a fun excursion scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11th, from noon to 3 p.m. Drop off and pick up at the church. We will be going up to Mason to play Laser Tag at Laser Kraze. Cost is $15, which includes two games. Students can bring extra spending money to play in the arcade. RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 8th to ensure we have adequate transportation. Ignite - 7th & 8th Grade News
No SNL on Sunday night, Feb. 5th due to the SuperBowl. Join in as we have a party and watch the game together at the church. Invite a friend!
Sunday Night Live!
Sunday Night Live meets weekly for 7th & 8th grades, running from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday nights. SNL consists of exciting games, skits, lessons and breakout groups, providing a high-energy environment for 7th-8th graders to connect and grow. This is also a great environment for inviting friends to Horizon. SNL continues each Sunday night through March 18th (except for Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 5th.) Axis is hosting a SuperBowl party Sunday night, Feb. 5th at the church. Refreshments will be provided. Invite a friend.
Parent/Student Valentine's Date Night
Always a Horizon favorite, the Date Night is set for Monday night, Feb. 13th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parents will have the opportunity to go on a date with their son (moms) or daughter (dads). We will be hosting the event at Horizon this year. Please RSVP to Amy Rudge (513 276-2104) as soon as possible.
